Among the rarest of early Seamasters are those with chronometer-grade movements. Here's a rare and beautiful 1969 vintage Omega Seamaster chronometer automatic in stainless steel with original beaded "grains of rice" bracelet!
Here's the details on this extraordinary and collectible chronometer-grade automatic: OMEGA (SS/SS "Seamaster" Chronometer Automatic) - Excellent 34mm signed stainless steel screwback case (reference 168.024/166.010 SP) with thick extended lugs ( 42mm lug to lug), signed 24 jewel chronometer-grade calibre 564 automatic calendar movement ,adjusted to 5 positions and temperature, excellent aged original signed silver satin dial with raised silver markers, raised silver Omega logo at 12:00, silver dauphine hands and sweep seconds, signed crown, signed crystal, signed stainless steel beaded "grains of rice" bracelet.
The serial number on the movement places the date of production of this piece at 1969, and the watch is in excellent overall condition for this vintage! The signed stainless steel screwback case is in excellent condition, and features the embossed "Seamonster" logo on the caseback.
The signed 24 jewel calibre 564 chronometer-grade automatic movement is adjusted to 5 positions and temperature, and is running fine, keeping excellent time, and the quickset calendar function works as designed.This rare piece is sextuple-signed (case, clasp, crown, crystal, dial and movement) genuine all original Omega.

老實說，我一直很喜歡老的OMEGA錶款的設計，因為OMEGA的新錶款一直看不出味道在哪裡？或許新錶只是更符合現代人更多元的運動極限風格吧？這麼多年來個人始終鐘情於古董錶，雖然也賣過許多的新錶，但我總認為那是一種「新商品」沒有太多的感覺？也沒有太多的遲疑便賣掉手頭上的新錶，這就是我說的「沒有味道」吧？古董的OMEGA老實說，它沒有ROLEX耐操及防水性，但是，有一點不可否認的是：設計及概念！這點我相信有許多的老玩家或收藏家都會認同的一個論點吧，在過去機械錶競爭的1940’S開始，不管是OMEGA、ROLEX、大家都有志一同的想突破更甚以往的性能，當然這不外乎就是希望：更精確、更防水、更耐用！雖然ROLEX將OYATER的專利在1930’S註冊下來了，難道這樣所有的瑞士錶廠就沒有辦法改變了嗎?
有的，OMEGA所做的防水方式雖然沒有ROLEX的來的更加有效率，但確實的他們也成功的創造出屬於自己的一種模式；錶冠往往是手錶進水的第一道防線，過去OMEGA也創造出(壓入式)錶冠防水管及膠圈、鎖入底蓋(軟鐵製墊圈)，但是有一前提是新錶都可以有很好的防水效果，如果一經拆解就得更換全新的膠圈及防水配件，才能夠有維持好的防水效果。
話題說的遠囉，這只1969 vintage Omega Seamaster chronometer現在真的很難找到品項極佳的原裝錶了，誠如上面所提到的，它們的產量原本比起星座系列就不多了，再加上多年來的耗損，漂亮的老錶都留在收藏家的手裡，這幾年我看到許多不是翻面、拼裝的天文台老海馬，要不就是已經快駕鶴西歸的狀態了，朋友問過我，它的價值應該比星座差吧？錯…基本上只要狀態完整漂亮的價值一定不輸給同材質及年份的星座錶，甚至還貴啊；我很喜歡過去OMEGA的老米粒錶帶(rains of rice)戴上它那種舒適感，已經不是現行新錶可以比較的了，那一種一粒粒光滑的質感，看了叫人好不開心啊！我還是想努力的繼續找尋更多不同版本面盤的老海馬，希望有一天能夠將它們做一個影像及文字記錄(或許會賣掉它，但我相信喜歡它的錶友理由應該跟我一樣吧)！
